With most of FSFWA’s activities the language forms a barrier for non-Finnish speakers. This is also the case with Cosmos Pen. Just like all Finnish sf/f zines, it is published in Finnish. Over the years Kosmoskynä has published three English specials, the first in 1991 and the latest in 2006, downloadable as pdf from the main page.

In the latest Cosmos Pen's English special (2/2006) the article "A Look at Finish Fandom" was given a new life and has after that been kept up-to-date by the zine's former editor-in-chief Pasi Karppanen. The artice's idea to give one an overview of the history of Finnish fandom, as well as an idea what is happening here currently.

Addition to that, there has been a series of articles in the zine which have concentrated on the history of fandom and sf/f literature in various European countries. If you are interested writing a similar article for Cosmos Pen, focusing on your country's fandom, we would be more than interested publishing one. However, bear in mind that like all Finnish zines, Cosmos Pen is based on volunteer work.
